Week 4
Once again, it's time for update.
Well, quite a lot of things had happened this week. Whether big, small, happy or sad, it's been quite an eventful week. School is really getting stressful and difficult. Next week is the start of a series of tests. First up, organic chem test on next monday, which covers not only stuff learnt in this 4 weeks but also 1st year stuff. Seriously, I've given them back to the lecturer. Sian... And I'm also getting irritated by the inorganic chem lecturer. I really don't understand what the heck he is talking about. The topics are already tough enough, he just made it worse for us by talking like a bullet train, giving very concise notes and keep saying 'please refer to the textbook for more info'. He just make everybody frustrated by doing this. Apparently, he also had a low threshold for noise. It's usual to have some murmurings and noises during lectures because people tend to discuss things they don't understand, esp when his lectures are so tough. But he just keep getting distracted and asking us to shut up. It's really very disruptive and time wasting. Argh! At the end of the day, reading my textbook in my room is more worthy of my time.
Another irritating aspect of school is the teaching labs. For some unknown reasons, the lab techs do not like to give us any briefing on where certain special apparatus can be found. Instead, they like to play hide-and-seek with us, so we have to go all over the places to ask them for anything. The TAs are also seriously shorthanded. 2 TAs per lab to look after 20 plus students doing 5 different experiments at one time. It's either they think the TAs are gods or we, the students are damn clever. It doesn't help the situation where some of the students keep a TA to themselves because they know the TA through summer research.
Things are not exactly going well in my hall too. Oh well.. I shall not mention anything here.
But on the brighter side, a few of peeps are birthday babies this week! Happy Birthday to Pei Lin and Hui Shi!! Both birthdays are on 29 Aug. We gave Hui Shi sort of a birthday surprise. Hmm, not exactly sure if she found it surprising. All of us pretended not to be aware of her bday on wed. Then me and daphne went to JP to buy a choco mousse cake (for a pic, refer to huishi's blog) for her since we had a 4 hours break. Glad that she like the cake! Hahaz.. It's very nice, a good chance for me to have a bit of choco therapy after suffering at school. Anyway, gonna meet up with the shopping gang to celebrate PeiLin's bday later at Vivo's Sushi Tei! Yay!!
One week is coming to end and another is starting soon. When you start to think of the whole picture, time certainly does move fast, but when you are stuck in the situations of life, time just move dead slow.
Argh.. Need to get serious on studying. Hopefully, midnight talks will get less frequent and I can stop dozing off during lectures! I'm starting to resemble the giant panda. =(
Oh.. Before I end this post, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come to my hall bash which will be held on 7 sept, at Zouk. Tickets are at $18 (pre-sale price) with 2 drinks, entry before 10 pm. Please contact me for the tickets!! Bring your friends along too. The more the merrier! =)
