3 more weeks to the end of research.

Yo... I'm back here again... Well, I realised that I've not been blogging very regularly. Quite sorry for that, but I'm really busy with research these few weeks.

It has been a long week. Registered my subjects on thursday. It's really quite a retarded activity and I bet all of you agree with me. As Ethel said to me, " We spend so much time cracking our brains to plan the timetable, however, the whole process of registration within seconds". Well, I hope I can get all the subjects that I wanted to study for next term. Especially medicinal chemistry. I went throught some extra procedures for it. Really thank Brendan and Prof Loh for letting me have the chance to even register it. =)

Actually, I've not been in my best of moods this week. My research is frought with some difficulties and mistakes that were either 'stupidly ours' or 'some forseen circumstances'. I tried very hard to keep it cool and treat it as part and parcel of the project, or even as life in general. And it didn't help at all when I got sick again at the start of the week ( I finally went to see the doctor on tuesday and I was diagnosed with viral flu.) Yeah... I really couldn't stand everything when I was informed of some family business for the weekends last minute which kinda ruined my plans. I don't know why, but I just crashed. I cried in front of Brendan and Ethel during the group meeting. I felt kinda embarassed and sorry about it, its not their fault or anybody's. I just burst. I want to let it all out. I don't care if people think I'm weak, I just want to release this unwanted load and move on as a stronger person. I'm so tired of planning and re-planning everything, trying to accomodate everybody in the plan. Sometimes, I just hope they can accomodate me for once.

I went out today with Edric. Guess where? The National Museum of Singapore. Hahaz... Kinda funky right? Hahaz... Brendan kept saying that the architecture of the place is cool. So I decided to pay a visit and also, I haven't visit there for ages. Yeah... The new extension of the building is cool. I like the swinging chandeliers and the transparent ceiling concept. Anyway, we spent quite a long time in the Singapore history trail. They provide this audio guide which is something like a BIG mp3 player. You just have to press the corresponding numbers along the trail to listen to the narrator telling you about the exhibits. We walked the 'personal trail' instead of the 'official trail'. The 'personal trail' tells history from the ordinary folks' point of view. I think it's kinda interesting and gives another level of understanding of the past, quite different from what we get from history books. It's good going to places that you don't usually go... It sorts of freshen up your mind and it's more meaningful than going to shopping? Hahaz...

Anyway, I'm left with 3 more weeks before the official end of my holiday research. Brendan hinted that he want us to remain in lab a bit longer than that and threatened that he would give us a big fat C+ if we don't do so. HaHa! We shall see how it goes. The presentation days of the holiday research will be on 30 and 31 July. I think it's going to be a formal event and maybe an open one. The thought of it makes me damn nervous, and I don't really like the idea of putting on formal wear. It constricts my movements I think. Nonetheless, I have to get over it and get it done no matter what.

Whatever to the world man... Life's like this...
