Life's like this...

1st driving test.... PASSED!

Hehe.... I can't stop smiling. =) Well, it's not because I just had a botox jab. It's because I passed my driving test on my first attempt!! Yippeeee!!!! All my hard work and efforts have paid off. Had a hard week, but it's all worth it. =D

Before the driving test, I had physical chemistry test. I think I did okay, considering the fact that I didn't really study much. I was supposed to study very very hard for it on thursday night. But I just end up feeling very nervous and stressed up. =S Went down to methegreat's room to return his physics textbook and also, listen to his horror stories about how he failed his previous driving tests. He then made a make-shift 'amulet' using a Daiso receipt... LoL! Nonetheless, I felt less nervous after some crap talking. =)

Anyway, after the chem test, we had our usual Macs lunch at Can A. But this friday is slightly different. We had a birthday surprise for Bi Ying! Happy Birthday to Bi Ying!! Kang Li and Rui Xia went to buy a slice of blue berry cheesecake for her. Could see that she was so touched! Hahahaz... We took some photos too, maybe I will upload them some time later.

After dabbing some of her birthday luck, I set off to SSDC for my driving test. On the way there, it started raining heavily and my mum told me earlier that it was raining in Yishun too. Oh man... I was so worried that the rain would be too heavy for me to drive properly. Luckily, my worries were unfounded. It stopped raining at Yio Chu Kang and the weather was damn fine with lots of sunshine. =)

I had a short warm-up session before the test. I got car 38 and the license plate no. is 9944!! What kind of numbers are they?!! LoL! I was a bit sian diao... But nevermind, no time for superstitious thoughts at that point of time. Starting of the warm-up was quite okay, I drove normally. But when it came to the parallel parking, it was fine until I tried to drive out of the lot. I striked a pole!! I was so stunned man. An immediate failure mistake! Oh gosh... Nevertheless, I just continued to drive as normally as possible and try very hard not to be nervous.

After the warm-up, I went up to the main building to wait for the allocation of tester and drive route. It was done by balloting and I got test route 10 which was quite a long one. Finally, I met my tester and went down to start the driving test!! First, we started with the circuit stations. I think the timing was damn good because just nice, it was a break time and the circuit was empty except for test cars. There were no problems with the circuit stations. =)

The real horror started once I hit the main roads. Initally, I thought the tester will be very quiet except for giving commands. But I was wrong! He started to say things like' Don't be nervous, just drive confidently', ' Why you look so nervous? I haven't mark any mistakes for your circuit'. I felt that he was trying to lighten up the mood, so I just smiled and nod my head. At first the comments weren't too bad. Then he started to say that my reaction is very slow, why I always use the side mirror a lot instead of rear view mirror and why I clutch-in so early. Asked so many 'why's! So being courteous, I tried to answer him (defend myself). Of course, being a tester, he didn't fancy being answered back. He snapped back at me "Don't tell me why, there are so many thousands of 'why'". Diaoz!! So I apologised and go back to just smile and nod, which is more universal I guess. =S At that point of time, it really seemed quite hopeless and most likely, I would fail. However, there was also a strong indication that the tester wanted to pass me. 'Cause he kept saying, ' the school instructors teach you wrong stuff is it? It's because they want you to come back. But I don't want to see you again! Don't waste money!' LoL... Talking about mixed signals eh?

After the torturous ride, I finally made my way back to the driving centre in one piece. Then he started the whole story about why I should use more of the rear view mirror instead of side mirror. I wasn't really listening. Just wondered if he wants to pass me or not. Hahaz... I stole a glance at the mark sheet. Then I saw 14 demerit points and a tick in the box next to PASS!!! Woo hoo!!! =D I almost burst into tears! Here are my mistakes: 8 points for changing lane abruptly, 4 points for taking too long in checking blind spot/mirror and 2 points for fail to check mirror before changing lane/overtaking.

I was over the moon! Ecstatic! Euphoric! Hahahaz... Then I went to take passport size photos for my driving license. But when I got to the counter, it was already close. So I have to go again tomorrow to make it. Oh well, troublesome... but for the hard-earned license, I'm willing! Hahahaz... While waiting to settle the adminstration stuff, I called up my family and friends to tell them about the good news. Hehehe.... A mad girl I am.

Well, now I kinda believe that miracles do happen. It does happen, when you believe enough in yourself and just go against all odds with the goal in mind. Hmm, I shall try to do the same for my exams. Hahahaz... Anyway, thanks everybody for all the well wishes and support. Luckily, I didn't disappoint anybody. =D
